Summary of Part 2:
José Luis had cut down the entire rose garden because he thought the roses were useless and wanted to plant “real” crops instead, such as chilies, corn, and beans.
That act deeply hurt María Elena, because those roses were not just garden plants—they were sacred memories of her mother.
That night, while José Luis burned all the rose bushes in the yard, María Elena quietly saved a small sprout that was still alive. In that moment, an idea was born in her heart.
Later, she decided to take a subtle kind of revenge: she ruined the fishing rods that her husband loved so much. She cut the lines at the most difficult knots and scented the bait with the fragrance of roses. When José Luis discovered it, he was furious, but there was nothing he could do.
Meanwhile, María Elena began planting a new rose garden using rare seeds. Over time, the garden slowly came back to life.
José Luis, for his part, gave up fishing and started raising bees. But the bees depended on flowers—on the very roses he had destroyed.
In the end, when he saw the garden full of roses again and the bees flying among the petals, José Luis finally understood the beauty and value of that place.
Without arguments or resentment, the two slowly began to reconcile in silence.
And María Elena realized something important:
