My husband liked doing crazy pranks that were hurtful and not funny. But he refused to comprehend this when I confronted him. One day, I got the upper hand with the help of someone dear to both of us and I gave my husband a taste of his own medicine. Let me tell you, he WASN\u2019T happy!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hi everyone, my name is Hannah and I have a crazy story to tell. My tale is about an incident that happened between me and my husband, Oliver. So all the drama between us started this past Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

See, the two of us were on a romantic boat cruise alone. Everything was perfect and we were just relaxing, talking, and having a good morning. I was enjoying my time with him until he did something unexpected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suddenly, Oliver became very serious and turned to face me. Then he told me something I never anticipated hearing him say. \u201cBaby, I\u2019m so sorry, but I have to tell you something. I\u2019m so sorry, please forgive me, I had an affair.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some context, let me clear this up: my husband thinks he\u2019s a comedian. He\u2019s the type of guy who\u2019ll say dumb stuff all the time. But this time I reacted badly because in all the time we\u2019ve been together he\u2019s never joked about our marriage. He\u2019s also never joked about our relationship or cheating, ever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The way he said it, I FULLY believed him! I was blinded by rage and hurt, and I\u2019m not a confrontational person. So all I did was stand up, take my rings off, and throw them into the ocean. I don\u2019t even know why I did it; it was the first thing I thought of doing for some reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I turned back to Oliver, I saw him dropping the phone in his hand after taking a photo of my reaction. The next thing that happened was his jaw dropping so wide open that it seemed to hit the floor!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He immediately started to yell that it was a joke, a prank, and that he wasn\u2019t serious. Hearing this, my mouth also dropped open! I became livid and yelled at him, saying, \u201cYour STUPID joke made me throw your family\u2019s engagement ring out!\u201d After hearing that, my husband became white as a ghost and started screaming!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWHY would you do that?! You know that was a prized heirloom in my family!\u201d Not allowing him to turn this whole thing around on me, I asked him seriously, \u201cDo you realize that you hurt ME by making me believe that you cheated on me?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is what worries you now? That is what you want to focus on?\u201d he asked loudly. \u201cYou threw the ring my grandfather gave to my father, which I then gave to you!\u201d Waving his hands around in frustration as he kept exclaiming, he added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou threw my family ring into the ocean like it was trash!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut I was hurt by your words. I didn\u2019t do it on purpose,\u201d I said defensively. I couldn\u2019t believe he was trying to throw ME under the bus for how I reacted to HIS stupid prank! After we got off the boat, we were still arguing back and forth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He even pulled out his phone to confirm seeing me throw my rings into the ocean. Then his brother, Mike, met us on the shore with a board that said \u201cSURPRISE!\u201d on it. Mike took my rings out of his pocket. I stood with my hands crossed against my chest in triumph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oliver was shocked and confused as he asked, \u201cWhat is going on here!?\u201d We revealed to him that after he told Mike about his new idea to prank me, my brother-in-law (BIL) decided to help me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I explained how I had previously confided in Mike how Oliver\u2019s pranks were getting on my nerves. So this time my clever BIL suggested giving his brother a taste of his own medicine! \u201cOf course, I was in!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this point, Oliver looked defeated as he started putting together the pieces of how I\u2019d gotten the upper hand in this situation. \u201cWe devised a plan where Mike created fake rings that looked like the ones I wore,\u201d I revealed smugly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter you told me the news about your \u2018affair,\u2019 I threw the fake rings in the water, making you believe they were real!\u201d My BIL chimed in at that moment, \u201cWe wanted to show you what your cruel jokes make everyone feel,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe love you, Oliver, so could you please consider our feelings too after you\u2019ve had this experience?\u201d Mike added with a brotherly smile. My husband was hurt, but he finally understood how wrong he was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI get it now. I promise not to play with your emotions anymore,\u201d he vowed and I and Mike were grateful for that. After the confrontation, we all sat down together. Oliver was still processing everything, his face a mix of relief and regret.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oliver nodded, a look of determination crossing his face. \u201cI promise, I\u2019ll be more mindful. No more cruel jokes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
